In the Welsh countryside

It came right on time:  Our area became a little winter wonderland last weekend. As it doesn’t happen too often around here, we couldn’t help but love it. There isn’t too much snow on these photos but we actually had a lot more on Sunday (which I shared on my Instagram stories). We finished all our grocery shopping and running errands so we spent quite some time outside.

Oh before I forget: I’m leaving for Germany earlier than Joerg this time and so we felt we had to watch ‘Paddington 2’ before I’m off. What an adorable film that couldn’t be more appropriate at this time of year. The week before we went to see ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ – being an admirer of Kenneth Branagh, it was a must. And the film is great. traditional christmas plaid

I get the impression that I wear plaid every week on the blog (well, at least every other week!). But plaid and the festive season simply go together. traditional christmas plaid

There’s the traditional Christmas plaid and I’m not only talking about plaid ribbon for gift wrapping. It looks incredibly festive in the traditional colour combination with red, blue, green and black (it often has white and yellow in it too).

My plaid shirt and trousers are from J. Crew and I had set my eyes on them for quite a while. I think I first spotted the shirt about 3 years ago in the online shop, every time around December. Classics never get old! I love combining plaid with red accessories and red Hunter boots are the best classics too. You can easily see my favourite Christmas decoration as well which always has a lot of red and plaid in it.

My outfit:

Joules Gilet (old; so in love this plaid one too), J. Crew Shirt, J. Crew Trousers, (sold out; love these and these ones as well) Hunter Wellington Boots, Gap Beanie
