DRESSING FOR VERY COLD WINTER DAYS

Not even one week till Christmas! I’ve been in Germany for 5 days now and I’m really able to enjoy the festive season. I’ll be staying for almost 3 weeks which is why I prepared most of my work before I left. It might sound strange but I even enjoy boredom; I bought myself a lovely book (‘The Snow Child’ by Eowyn Ivey) and love the rest. It’s what I planned for December and it’s a must to spend most of the time here with my family.

Winter has finally got hold of us too. We have a bit of snow in Germany though I don’t think it’s going to stay around here for very long. But whether it’s snowy or not, it’s definitely cold and warm clothes and layering is a must now.

For cold winter days I love to wear a warm coat, a jumper and comfy boots. I want to keep wearing skirts so I combine them with opaque thermal tights. And a scarf is one of the accessories you really need now. dressing for cold winter days

West Burton in the Yorkshire Dales

Only very recently we spent a wonderful time in North Yorkshire. On a very cold but beautiful sunny day we visited West Burton in the Yorkshire Dales. We did some research beforehand to learn more about picturesque villages in the Dales and West Burton is definitely one of them. dressing for cold winter days

Having watched ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ on the telly as a child, driving through the Yorkshire Dales was a big highlight. There are some beautiful villages worth seeing in the North (here’s a little list) and it seems that only little has changed since James Herriot helped the farmers and their animals in the popular series. It’s such a pretty spot and I’m looking forward to seeing more of it.

My outfit:

Oasis Coat (really love this one too which is currently on sale!), Marks & Spencer Christmas Jumper, Marks & Spencer Plaid Skirt (love this and this one too), Topshop Scarf (old; similar style here), Furla Metropolis Bag, Zara Boots (old; love these and these ones too), & Other Stories Gloves (similar style here), Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses

Oh yes I do that too, at least sometimes. We are lucky, it doesn’t get as cold in the UK as it does in Germany. And thanks so much, wishing you a merry Christmas Jodie.x

Hi Kirsten, You look splendid! Love your clothes. I also really enjoyed All Creatures Great and Small; all four books are actually sitting beside me on the bookshelf. I love the Yorkshire Dales. Enjoy your Christmas with your family. x

Oh so glad to hear it Ruth, thanks so much. I’ve been loving All Creatrues Great and Small for as long as I can remember and the Yorkshire Dales are a dream, aren’t they? And thank you, wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas too.
