My other half knows my playful style very well. We were just talking about it the other day. I think you can easily say that it’s a key aspect in our interior too which is mostly playful, a lot of the things are traditional and a visitor would also spot some old-fashioned elements. It’s my favourite combination because I will love it for a very long time, possible for the rest of my life. Even though I like the kitchen in our rented cottage, I would never buy it for myself. It has a glossy finish which I’m not too fond of as it’s not really my style. It might be one of the reasons why I really loved spending time in our kitchen in Cornwall because it was a classic English country style kitchen with a wooden worktop and you could clearly see that it was individually planned by a carpenter. dreamy floral dress

The landlord must have had some sort of idea that I would bring this pretty Laura Ashley dress with a floral print because there was a bunch of flowers in the kitchen in similar colours.

The dress immediately caught my eye on the website as it has that little touch of nostalgia to it (it’s currently reduced by 50%!). The vintage brown and pink colours look so great together especially now that we have autumn. It falls beautifully and has the prettiest ruffles. It was a bit chilly in the morning so I put on a cardigan to add a bit more to the rustic cottage charm. dreamy floral dress

My wonderful parents were visiting when Joerg and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. You also call it silver wedding anniversary; a term which sounds so strange to us probably because it feels so unreal. But there’s nothing more beautiful than having a partner by your side that will go through thick and thin with you, that you can easily call your best friend, someone who will always listen to your worries and dreams. dreamy floral dress

We are not all about huge presents but prefer collecting precious moments. Our week in Cornwall was definitely memorable. On our actual anniversary we went out for dinner with my parents, enjoyed being together and can you guess which dress I was wearing? It had to be this pretty number of course.

Oh my! What a stunning dress! I am so in love with the colors and the print. And what a fabulous price! But I have always loved Laura Ashley.

So happy you love the dress Nancy, thanks so much. Yes, I just love the colours as well, they are so great for autumn. And I’m the same as you, I’ve been a fan of Laura Ashley for many years.x

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary! I’ve just discovered your blog and I’m enjoying it very much. I also enjoy English country style and lots of floral attire, and plaid, too. I look forward to reading more of your musings on life in the UK.
