This is the first post in 2018! I hope you had a great start into the new year and wish you all the very best. My break has been a real one this time and I’m feeling very refreshed.

Back in the old year, Joerg and I made a daytrip  to Snowdonia to visit Dolbadarn Castle and Llanberis. The weather was wonderful and you can never go wrong with Snowdonia. dolbadarn castle snowdonia

Dolbadarn Castle is a fortification built in the 13th century at the base of the Llanberis Pass. You can walk up to Snowdon by taking the extremely scenic Llanberis Path Route from here or ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.

We’re dying to walk up to the summit again and want to give it a try this year. Unfortunately I’ve been suffering from pelvis problems for years and was treated in Germany. With a huge amount of stretching, I should be able to deal with these problems. Fingers crossed. Snowdonia National Park is heaven for hikers because the landscape is out of this world. There are tons of routes from easy to difficult and if you’re looking for a lovely and easy walk, there’s a great one starting in Capel Curig (find a post here).

I musn’t forget to mention that Llanberis has a slate museum as Snowdonia was one of the most important regions and some quarries were the largest one in the world. You will also find the Snowdon Mountain railway station in the centre and can buy your tickets heredolbadarn castle snowdonia

Things should be going back to normal next week. You might have noticed that I reduced my posts from 3 times to 2 times a week (Tuesday and Thursday) because I usually publish a YouTube video every Wednesday. Should you want to subscribe to my channel, you can find it here. A new video should be ready to go online during the third week of January. Would love to hear your thoughts and ideas! We’ve already booked some journeys within the UK and can’t wait to share lots of new content. dolbadarn castle snowdonia

My outfit:

Jack Wills Jacket, Miss Patina Blouse (no longer available; love this and this one too), Old Navy Corduroy Trousers (old; similar style here or here), Hunter Wellington Boots (so in love with this style too), Topshop Scarf, Hats & Dreams Hat (no longer available; love this one from Maison Michel too), Lovat Mill Tweed Bag

Happy New Year! Lovely location and outfit. I just watched a few of your YouTube videos, which was fun. I enjoyed seeing Liverpool. My husband and I visited the city several years ago; his ancestors lived there for a little while before emigrating to the U.S. I was surprised by how much I liked the city. There was such an energy there, I thought. That being said, I really like seeing the country houses and wild lands, too. Christie
