When Haddon Hall in Derbyshire caught my eye in a magazine I instantly knew that I wanted to go there. It might seem that we’ve visited quite some mansions so far but there are so many in the country that it only seems like a tiny fraction. Also, they’re all so very different and discovering and exploring these properties is always fun.

We stayed in a private Bed & Breakfast very nearby. Driving to the Peak District is always a highlight and we enjoy it a lot because after you leave Congleton, you will come across the most amazing landscape with mountains and many sheep. I even spotted some Herdwick sheep that you usually find in the Lake District. colourful autumn outfit

The weather forecast for the weekend was great and I didn’t even need to wear a warm jacket. It was very mild and luckily we had some sunny spells too. Only my hair struggled with some gusty winds. My blouse and fair isle jumper were perfect for a day out. colourful autumn outfit

I’ve been a fan and customer of The British Shop for so many years. Back in Germany I always got a taste of Great Britain with their catalogues and products. You find a lot of classic pieces from clothes to household items that you automatically associate with the kingdom. Last year I bought my first fair isle jumper and meanwhile own a few. The one I’m wearing today is from Harley of Scotland and I noticed it right away because of its honey-yellow.

I love yellow hues and prints especially in the darker autumn and winter months because they are happy and joyful.

When we entered Haddon Hall a lady talked to me because she liked the jumper so much. I styled it with a beautiful bird print blouse from Herringtone and think the pieces look great together but they can easily be worn separately as well. I also knew that this outfit would be perfect for the wonderful Peak District.

I’m so happy to hear you like the outfit, thanks so much. And you have to go to the Peak District, it’s absolutely gorgeous out there.x

Kirsten….you have the prettiest photography around, and I’m always in awe of how you always look so great, even though you are walking around and exploring!!
I’m sending this to my mom, because she loves dressing in monochromatic, but I love how you added in darker tights and brown boots!! It looks so modern and chic!

Your comment makes me happy Jodie, thanks so much. Yes, we just love combining exploring and taking photos, we found it’s the best way to combine work and leisure especially after we done taking photos, leaves my husband the chance to relax a bit too. So happy you’re liking the outfit, thank you.x

Hi Kirsten, I love lemon and it certainly looks good with the yellow skirt – very striking. I have always liked it with brown, so your boots are perfect. You look great. As always, the pictures are stunning. Thank you. Ruth xx
