BRITISH HERITAGE – TWEED STYLE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE BORING

There are 2 things I’m so excited about for the upcoming autumn/winter season: Tweed and plaid. Every fashion magazine is talking about it and of course I’m liking it. You’re currently finding lots of tweed coats and jackets in the shops as well. It might be hot for the upcoming season but let’s face it, it’s so timeless and a classic. It was none other than Coco Chanel who made tweed fashionable. Even though it seems that I had to grow a little bit older to really like it. tweed style

I always get very excited about the Chanel Shows especially because of all the tweed (I usually catch up on them online; it’s on my bucket list to see a show live one day; in case you missed the Métier d’Art Show 2012/13, you can rewatch it here – it’s genius). I think its image has drastically changed and it’s not only because of different shapes and cuts but also because of the beautiful combos and colours. tweed style

About 4 years ago I purchased a great tweed jacket by Pam & Gela and whenever I wear it, usually someone asks me about it. Being a fashion and lifestyle blogger, my closet is filled with great pieces but I have to sort it out from time to time to make room for new stuff. This tweed jacket is one of the pieces that will always make the cut though. The same applies to this pretty coat I just got from Zara. It’s so versatile. You know that I love wearing floral midi dresses and my new coat looks so great with it. tweed style

Tweed is gorgeous and long gone are the days that it had a dusty image. Since its roots are in Great Britain, it’s even more fun for me to wear.

My outfit:

Zara Coat (love this one too or this jacket), Oasis Dress (also love this and this one), Acne Jensen Boots, Cambridge Satchel Bag, Hunter Umbrella

I think Zara is one of the brands that sells multiple items in tweed! It s always hard to find. And it is so lovely!
