HOW WE DO CHRISTMAS

Not long now until we will get on a plane to Germany to spend the holidays with our family. This is the time when Christmas really starts for us. It’s been 6 months since our last visit to Germany and the time passed by so quickly. Many things here happen too slow for me if you take our house hunt for example. There’s hardly any progress because it’s much harder to find something appropriate. Then I occasionally panic and don’t know what is right and what is wrong anymore. But when my gut feeling tells me that a particular house isn’t a fit, there’s no point to pursue it any further. So the search goes on and at times it really gets on my nerves. We draw strength from our discovery tours on the weekends which are also our main source to create blog content.

We’ll be going to the Peak District this weekend, after that we’ll be spending another weekend in Heswall and then we’ll be packing our bags. To us Christmas primarily means family, spending time together, escape from everyday life. And of course it means great food. There are some things we can’t get here and that’s why Joerg is meant to get the odd pack of Spaetzle in Germany! We love gifting but we usually don’t go overboard because being together is the most important. It seems even more important this year, especially now that our family isn’t around the corner anymore. And this morning Joerg told me another thing he’s looking forward to during the holidays! He can’t wait to read a good book because he hardly has enough time left in his daily routine. I absolutely get that since I feel exactly the same. Long walks are part of it all too if you ask me. It’s all those little things put together that make Christmas very special to us again and again. How do you feel about it?

Beautiful pictures again! I’m fairly new to your blog, and I must tell you that your makeup looks beautiful. Do you have any tips about that?

That is so incredibly sweet of you Patty, thank you. Hm, let me think, I do have very fair skin so a good foundation for me is key. I’m using Lancome Teint Idole 24h which is amazing. Underneath I’m using a the Urban Decay Tightening & Brightening Primer and to finish that off I’m using a setting spray from Urban Decay (the ‘Chill’ one) and you’re good to go. Your make up will last all day long. Use it with your favourite blush, eyeshadow and lipstick and you’re fine. Hope that helps.x
