HISTORIC FOOTPRINTS

Initially it was our plan to drive to Snowdonia last Sunday to do some hiking. Properly dressed you can really do it in February. Upon checking our weather up the night before, we saw that the feather forecast said that it was going to snow there. So we skipped our plan. In our passion to explore new places Joerg came across Greenfield Valley Heritage Park in Wales as an alternative.

It’s fascinating how much history is combined there. We started with St. Winefred’s Chapel uphill and then made our way to Basingwerk Abbey which is from the 12th century. Then we walked through the woods for a little while and finally came to copper and cotton mills which played a major role during the Industrial Revolution. Actually the visitor centre was still closed but we didn’t mind too much. Our plan was to spend time outside and go for a walk. It was so windy and cold in Heswall that morning. When we arrived in Holywell there was no wind at all and it made such a big difference. We weren’t freezing as much as we expected. At times you really feel that spring isn’t too far anymore. We also took our new GoPro to play with it a little or let’s say practice. I hope we’ll be getting better at using it quickly because I really want to share some little vlogs on the blog.

Always enjoy your posts as much for the fascinating locations you seek out as for the beautifully put-together clothes! Yearning for Spring since October – but winter does, as you show, have its charms. Not least big coats and jumpers 🙂

Thank you so much Rozanna, that’s so kind. There’s definately light at the end of the tunnel, is there? Love when I step outside and the birds are singing.
