DRAMATIC LANDSCAPES IN NORTH WALES

When we went up Castle Dinas Bran above the town Llangollen almost 2 weeks ago, I contemplated leaving right away. The winds were quite strong and I struggled with my hair and looked as if I had an electric shock. I wanted a little bit of wind because it always adds such a great effect to a dramatic landscape. But this much? Certainly not! I was lucky that I had my hair done at the hairdresser in the afternoon that very same day. Whenever I’m doing the hair myself (well, I’m not a stylist) and some wind is coming, I look like a hot mess and it’s over but when my hair is styled by a professional, it looks okay in wind. But enough of that hair talk. dramatic landscapes in north wales

North Wales is always impressive because of its dramatic landscapes. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful area surrounded by lush nature. I think with this dramatic landscape it’s probably not surprising that the current season of Poldark was short there rather than Cornwall like it normally is. Other than that I think Cornwall is hard to beat when it comes to coastal landscape. And this is why I’m so looking forward to going there again in September. It’s been far too long. dramatic landscapes in north wales

You don’t necessarily have to drive to Snowdonia to enjoy some mountains. Llangollen in Denbighshire is beautiful and even if the mountains are a bit more gentle, they are no less beautiful. dramatic landscapes in north wales

Down in the town centre you can spot the ruins of Castle Dinas Bran and I really recommend a visit. It’s free of charge and always open. The castle is from the 13th century and I wonder what the view must have been like back then. We hiked a little bit and I changed the shoes on the top. It would have been too dangerous and slippery with the brogues. There are some beautiful hiking trails in the area and I think it’s not really busy.

The maxi dress from Glamorous is actually quite versatile. You can wear it with flats or heels and combine it with some great accessories. Here on the top of the mountain, I just kept it very simple though; the glorious landscape is my accessory.

Thank you Ruth. Yes, this is the landscape surrounding us so it’s very nearby and I love to take photos there once in a while.

Very dramatic landscape. There’s something so romantic about ruins. I always imagine how the original castle or keep would have looked. You look very glamorous among the ruins – lovely maxi dress.

Thank you so much Kathleen, that means a lot. I sometimes take the landscape photos myself but most of the time Joerg takes them (he took these ones too!) as I’m so often busy with my Instagram stories haha. Have a wonderful day.x
