BRITISH COUNTRYSIDE LIVING – A LIFELONG DREAM

It’s not only since our weekend at Pinkney Court that I’ve been dreaming about living in a manor house. I need you to stop right there: Of course I’m not talking about the whole house, what I really mean is a beautiful flat in such a building. Everything else wouldn’t only be unaffordable, we actually don’t like living in a place that is far too big for us where we can’t make use of all the rooms. Because if you live in such a big building, every room still needs to be looked after and maintained. That can be such a massive burden. For us it’s all about the character of such a house and the story it tells. Historic buildings have always had a huge impact on us. british countryside living

I’ve read English magazines for many years back in Germany and it was always easy for me to escape into a dream world. Everything evolved around the British countryside as well. Chances that we actually end up living like that are tiny and to be quite honest with you, the older we get, chances get even smaller. But we MUST keep on dreaming. It’s the essence of life. You have to set yourself goals and need to dream no matter how old you are because if you don’t, you’re no longer alive which would be a disaster. I’ve always been a huge dreamer which can make things easy but it also can complicate things tremendously. Very often I stand in my own way but then again it’s because of this trait that I’m not willing to accept everything. On the contrary, I mostly fight for the stuff I want in life.

In Rossett which is one of the nearby villages we came across Trevalyn Hall. We passed through this pretty village about 2 weeks ago and it was only during our second time that I discovered the gorgeous manor house. I fell immediately in love which is probably no suprise. It’s so nice that you can walk around the house because there’s a public way. There are ways within the lawn which we absolutely love. Instead of paving ways, it’s left naturally and that’s how it’s done here. Back home I did a bit of research on the internet and saw that there are indeed flats at Trevalyn Hall. Well, of course there’s nothing available at this point which doesn’t surprise me at all. Before I forget: The villages Rossett and Marford are amazing and I recommend them if you want to go for a walk. It’s very idyllic, quite the epitome of British countryside living where life seems to be more quiet and peaceful. british countryside living

Oh, the memories! The first house I bought was in Marford and I used to drive past Trevalyn Hall every day on my way to work (and then drink in the pub across the road every Friday night). I love that whole area x
