THE PIECE EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE IN HER CLOSET

These past months I focussed a lot on classic pieces in my wardrobe. Long gone are the times when I thought I need to wear every single trend. I think one of the reasons for that is that I simply found my style over time. I can’t deny that I love adding a highlight with an It-piece once in a while provided I just don’t do it for the sake of fashion because everybody is wearing it. The mix has to feel like me. blue trench coat

Nothing is more classic than a trench coat. One of the best basics ever and a piece every woman should own. Especially at this time of year it’s wonderful to have. I went for this blue Boden Abingdon trench coat (currently on sale!). It has red seams which looks beautiful with the blue of the trench. Since blue and red are my favourite colours anyway, this wasn’t a hard call for me. blue trench coat

It was a wise decision to reach for the trench because when we went to Parkgate for the photos it was still very early in the morning and a bit chilly. I already put the coat aside to take to Germany this Saturday. Hopefully temperatures will have risen by then. It seems that we currently have warmer weather here in the UK. blue trench coat

My outfit:

Boden Abingdon Trench Coat (on sale!), Levi’s Denim Shirt (old; this one too), Gelco Gingham Trousers (old; currently coveting these and these ones), ASOS Shoes (last season; love these and these ones too), Furla Metropolis Bag

I was gifted this trenchcoat by Boden but all opinions are my own.

So I probably should be fired as a fashion blogger because I don’t have a trench coat–ha ha. But really, it hardly rains here, so I have a good excuse!
Now if I saw your title and outfit—I would’ve guessed the silver shoes—they go with everything!!

LOL Jodie never ever!! I always wanted one and couldn’t be without a trench coat anymore, I it’s so perfect for transitioning, not just in the rain. But of course they are an essential here in the UK. Yes you’re right about the shoes, thank you.

Great coat and I always think dark blue or navy looks smart. Looking good! Ruth
