BEAUTIFUL B&B IN THE PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK

We couldn’t have asked for a better weekend in the Peak District. We had storm Brian and quite some rain last weekend so we felt really blessed with the beautiful weather while we were away and it seems that timing was right.

Our plan was to visit Haddon Hall, Chatsworth, the small village Beeley and we also booked dinner at the Devonshire Arms at Beeley which is all part of the Chatsworth Estate. We wanted to stay near these places (actually the Devonshire Arms at Beeley has beautiful rooms too but unfortunately they were all booked) and so I started my Google search. A nice country house hotel or a pretty B&B is our favourite type of accommodation. Last year we stayed at The Manor House (find the post here) and really enjoyed it. Only very rarely do we return to a place because we simply love finding new ones. beautiful b&b peak district national park

So this time we stayed at the Old Nursery House, a beautiful Georgian house (my favourite style!) which was the perfect base for exploring. It’s only a short walk to the village Winster which is utterly picturesque. I would have loved to go back and see more of it but we ran out of time. I can definitely recommend it though. The pretty village Ashford-in-the-Water is only a short drive and this is where we stumbled upon last year and took some photos (here). beautiful b&b peak district national park

We chose the Paris Room, a gorgeous creamy-coloured bedroom. Helena and Simon are wonderful hosts and prepare the most scrumptious breakfast.

The Old Nursery House actually has 2 guest rooms but we were the only ones visiting that weekend and it was so relaxing. We would have loved to stay a night longer because the area is too beautiful and it’s fun to explore the villages. beautiful b&b peak district national park

I will publish a vlog tomorrow on YouTube with some impressions, you can find and subscribe to my channel here.

Jodie, thanks so much. I bought some extra lighting last year but we both forgot to bring it. We’ve only used it a couple of times (inside only) so far which is why we keep forgetting about it. The room actually would have needed more light and I’m not very happy with the result to be honest. More light would have helped so much so I’m even more glad that you like them.x
