It’s exactly one year ago that we went to Birkenhead Park. I can hardly believe that’s it’s actually been 12 months.

Moving to the UK, I think we couldn’t have made a better choice when it comes to my blog. I really struggled back in Saarland to do what I had in mind thinking of my type and my taste. To be honest it didn’t work out at all and there were times I was more than desperate. Of course there are lovely spots in Saarland but there’s such a wear out effect that I didn’t know what to do anymore.

It’s definately not easy to leave behind one’s home country. I miss my family as well as some things I can’t get here daily. I’m longing for the time when Joerg and I are living in a house / flat that we can really call home and design ourselves. It’s probably something I miss the most at the moment because what we currently have is just a temporary solution.

Yesterday I browsed through the book Joerg gave to me 15 years ago ‘Traditional Style – Wohnkultur auf den britischen Inseln’. I still love it and it was then that I became restless because I knew I wanted to work with something like that. I just didn’t know where to start and kept putting it aside. Until I started blogging about 4 years ago, just like that. The book always reminds me where I want to be heading and what I need to work on. Well, it’s definately a life’s mission.

Darlings, I envie you. England has always attrackted me, I have always wanted to live there. When I havn t been in the UK for a few months, I get homesick. But did you already know for that long that you wanted to move?

We did yes. I lived in Egypt as a teenager and learned English from British people, picked up their accent. Joerg lived in Australia as a child. I later studied English literature, also in the UK for a certain time. I’ve been obsessed with the classic interior, colours, wallpaper and manor houses for many many years. I always say the things how they are, believe me.

I am so glad you are enjoying it here! I adore your dress and the blue trim means that you have been able to combine it perfectly with the top, gorgeously-blue tights and fab bag! Kx

Thanks so much Karen! So often I can’t believe that we really live here, there were so many things I wanted to do years back and now I try to do them as best as I can.x

Well, it’s definately tough at times that’s for sure. It’s probably more difficult than it sounds especially if you give up everything in your home country. But we’ll get there. Thanks so much Jess.xx
