ALBERT DOCK

If someone asks me about my favourite spot in Liverpool I always say the Albert Dock. It’s a wonderful corner and can be enjoyed to the fullest if you go there in the wee hours of the morning. This is when nobody is around and the quiet in the city centre is very special indeed. It’s funny how it totally changes just a few hours later when the dock gets filled with life. It’s something very nice as well especially during summertime when the ice cream carts are open or you can sit outside a café and let your mind wander.

The dock was opened in 1846 but was closed in 1972, left to itself until it was completely derelict. Luckily it was finally redevelopped in the 80s costing a fortune. And effort. It shines in all its glory again and isn’t only popular with tourists. I think many people are very happy about the dock’s preservation. I love standing by the waterfront and enjoy the view towards the Royal Liver Building. It’s the building that we see first when we drive out of the Queensway tunnel and its architecture always reminds me of The San Remo in New York.

What I wore:

Helene Berman Wrap Coat (similar here or here), Cloth & Stone Gingham Top, Boden Jeans, Seychelles Lucky Penny Boots, Maison Michel André Hat, Lulu Guiness Bag (old), Topshop Scarf (old)

What a fun place to visit, Kirsten!!
I really love the gold booties—I almost bought a pair this weekend, but the pair I tried on had a really round toe, and I didn’t love that about them. Instead I bought a plum pair!!

That looks very beautiful, but when I would go to Liverpool I want to do The Beatles tour! Haha, or does that sound to touristic?😂😂😂😂

Haha! I don’t know and you will laugh at me now, I’m just not a Beatles fan but the museum is right at the Albert Dock.
