PORT SUNLIGHT

Has your weekend been as crazy and somehow strange as ours? We had the most dreadful weather with very strong winds. Even past 9am it was still quite dark outside and to be honest with you, I really struggled with getting out of bed. Not necessarily because I needed more sleep but because it was far too warm and cosy in bed. Much nicer than out there. I finally managed to make an effort and got up way before the alarm went off but actually by mistake. Once up, I didn’t want to get back to bed again so I made use of the time and worked for a little bit. Then we headed to Port Sunlight. Aah, we adore this little city which in fact is a museum with real people living there. It’s a wonderful spot with the prettiest old houses. We were hardly there when it stopped raining and even the sun made an apperance. Port Sunlight most certainly lives up to its name.

Currently you can’t do no wrong wearing a check coat and a pair of tweed trousers. And of course a pair of extra warm tights to go with your Mary Janes. Well, Saturday was suprisingly good after all. But then came Sunday and I didn’t feel well nor was I up for going out. However, we drove to the farm shop in Hawarden for breakfast which was the best idea. It was raining so hard with very strong winds in the afternoon that you didn’t meet anyone outside. Apart from those peope who had no choice because they had to walk their dogs. They don’t care about the weather, do they? Off we went to Chirk Castle which isn’t busy at this time of year because most things are closed. We wanted to take some pictures even though there was the most terrible rain. We got quite wet, laughed so hard because we kept asking ourselves what the hell we were actually doing. And then afterwards we were incredibly happy because we decided to step outside instead of opting for the bed. Isn’t that one of the best feelings ever?

It really is the best feeling, Kirsten!! Besides, it’s almost more fun when things don’t always go as planned—or at least it makes for a good story & memories!!
I do love this jacket—it looks so soft and pretty!!
And that Tudor architecture is one of my favorites. My great aunt lived in a house with that detailing in Ohio, and I always thought it was so nice!

You look stunning, love the outfit.
Port Sunlight is one of my favourite places too. I used to visit it often when we were living in the Wirral. After we moved to Liverpool, I don’t see it as often, so it’s lovely to see in your pictures. x
