YELLOW CHECK COAT

Back in 2016 we discovered Bidston Mill only a few minute drive from where we live. All of a sudden you are in another world and stand in front of a mill that has already been near Birkenhead for a couple of hundred years. It doesn’t look very British I admit but this is what makes is so interesting and unique. It was quite cold that day but the birds were singing and the sun came out and I almost got spring fever. Bidston Mill seems to be a magnet for people living in the city and those walking their dogs. And then there are people like us who are addicted to finding new locations and who love nature.

The fact that we came across some flowering broom added to the spring feeling. My check coat fits in as if it was arranged but I swear it wasn’t. There are so many check coats but you don’t really see them that often in yellow. A shame if you ask me since yellow is such a cheery colour, especially in winter. Check and stripes work so perfectly together so I had to choose a striped pencil skirt. I hope you like it.

What I wore:

Next Check Coat (in love with this and this one too), Zara Turtleneck (similar style here or here), Next Pencil Skirt (on sale!), Zara Booties (similar ones here), Louis Vuitton Montsouris MM Backpack via Uncloset

This looks great. As you say, the yellow blends in well with the natural environment, and the stripes and checks look very good together. Overall, the outfit ‘sings’ and is very pleasing. I have enjoyed these photos and love the old mill – a lovely find for you. Thank you, Ruth x

I can’t believe you didn’t plan the colors with your background—it’s almost like a magazine piece—it’s so perfect!!
Yellow is actually my favorite color just for the reason you stated!
And I know I said this before, but I love that you dress up in skirts & dresses more than just occasionally!!

I’m head over heels with this look! Saw it on Insta and fell in love! The houndstooth on the coat, the stripes and that LV bag work so well together! Great look!

And location? Winning!
